SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. – Constantly changing weather conditions greeted the ArmsUp Motorsports team as they rolled into Blackhawk Farms for Blackhawk Valley SCCA National. Revere Greist beat the weather and the rest of the Formula Continental field as he drove to a dominant 50 second win in race one of the weekend. A weekend sweep was in reach but an early checkered caused by a red forced Greist to accept a second place in race two. Jim Victor had a solid weekend in his 2011 race debut scoring a fourth place finish in race one.

The weekend started off perfectly for the ArmsUp squad with Greist taking the pole for race one. Jim Victor put in a good run in his RFR F2000 car to line up fourth on the grid.

Madison Wisconsin's Greist did not hide his intentions at all in race one. In full rain conditions Greist left the field in his literal wake. Driving without letting up and without putting a wheel wrong Greist lead flag to flag to a 50 second margin of victory on the two-mile Blackhawk Farms racetrack. Victor, not known for his wet weather prowess, gained confidence and speed as the race progressed. With the laps winding down and firmly in control of the fourth position he was able start to reel in the third place car but ultimately ran out of time and claimed a well earned fourth place.

The weather played a major role in the qualifying session for race number two. As the cars rolled off the grid the track was dry. After an out lap and a flyer the skies opened up negating the rest of the half hour session. After one flyer Greist found himself in the second spot after being held up by one car, and Victor was relegated to eighth spot after being stuck in a pack of slower cars.

Race two proved to be much more eventful than race one, even with it being a dry affair. At the green flag Greist was able to take the lead going into turn one. The lead would be short lived as an incident involving ArmsUp's Victor brought out a black flag before the races mid-point. On the ensuing restart Greist lost the lead, but did not let the leader out of his crosshairs. Running comfortably in second Greist was planning a late race pass to take back the lead. Unfortunately with four laps to go the red and checkered flags were thrown for a multi-car accident. The early finish took away Greist's opportunity for a late race attack on the leader forcing the ArmsUp driver to settle for second.

"It was really looking like we were going to come away with a double win this weekend," Gregg Borland stated after the truncated race two. "Revere was just biding his time waiting till the end. He (Greist) had a masterful drive in race one in the wet, it truly was amazing. We were really happy with how Jim was running as well. We continue to develop the RFR and still feel the car has enormous potential. We are really looking forward to getting that car back to Road America to see what more we can do with it."

ArmsUp had a second team in action this weekend as well. Rick Balsley turned his first laps in an ArmsUp Motorsports prepared vintage 1973 Porsche RSR clone. Balsley shook down the car at Road America on Friday during the SVRA event in preparation for more vintage events later in the season.

The Elkhart Lake based team returns to Road America this weekend for the SCCA Milwaukee Regional. ArmsUp Motorsports will begin its preparations for the SCCA June Sprints with a full armada of Formula Continentals.
