ArmsUp Motorsports driver Luigi Biangardi had a solid week during the opening round of the USF2000 Cooper Tires Winterfest held at Sebring
International Raceway. The Cooper Tires Winterfest is the USF2000 Championship Series' pre season championship that runs over one week in Florida
and has two different events. Over the two day opening event Biangardi drove his Injectit.com/Gulfstream Properties/Slick Locks backed Van Diemen to
an eighth and a pair of sixth place finishes in the three races.
The one and only qualifying session was held in wet but drying conditions on
the 3.7 mile Sebring track. Biangardi was quick early when the track was full wet in his Gulfstream Properties car but was forced to settle for sixth
on the grid at the close of the session. In race one Biangardi fought hard but eventually dropped to eighth as the checkered fell.
Day two of
the Cooper Tires Winterfest proved to be a dry affair. The grid for race two was set by each driver's quick time from race one which lined Biangardi
up ninth on the grid. Biangardi made a solid breakthrough in race two immediately moving forward from his ninth place grid spot. At the race's
midpoint the Chicago driver was one of the fastest cars on the track en route to a sixth place finish.
For race three Biangardi would line up
fifth on the grid based on the strength of his fast lap in race two. Biangardi would lose one spot in the twelve lap race to finish sixth for the
second race in succession.
"I'm really happy with our results from the three races," Biangardi stated. "We showed good progression
throughout the two days, I think both the team and I made gains. I believe we have established a solid base of information for when we come back here
in March where I am expecting even better results."
"I was very pleased with Luigi and our team over the two days in Sebring," ArmsUp owner
Gregg Borland said after the event. "Luigi did a great job working with both Kent (Boyer) and David (McClain) our two race engineers for the season.
The car ran flawlessly and based on what we learned we can run better when we come back for the season opener in here in March."
ArmsUp

14th Season opener. ArmsUp Motorsports is planning on fielding two cars for the USF2000 Championship after a successful shakedown of their second
Mazda powered USF2000 car during their recent test at Roebling Road. The team is currently in talks with different drivers and interested parties
