After nine weeks since the last USF2000 race event at St. Petersburg, Florida, ArmsUp Motorsports will compete this weekend in Round 5 of the Cooper
Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda at Lucas Oil Raceway. The Wisconsin-based team spent the break testing on ovals and road courses in
preparation for the "Night Before the 500," a night of racing for the drivers in the Mazda Road to Indy. Saturday, May 25th, Lucas Oil Raceway will
host three races: The USF2000 Championship, Pro Mazda Championship and USAC Midget Series.
"It's great that our drivers get to be a part of
such a big weekend," said team owner Gregg Borland. "They're still new to this level of racing and have been progressing throughout the season.
This will be an insightful weekend for them on track as well as a lifetime experience being a part of the Indianapolis 500 events."
Yesterday
morning, drivers Andrew Hobbs and Felipe Donato joined the other Mazda Road to Indy drivers for an hour long autograph session at Indianapolis Motor
Speedway, meeting over a hundred fans at the famed race track. They also received a private tour of the premises to see behind-the-scenes of the
legendary Speedway. Tim Paul, the final ArmsUp driver of the weekend, was unable to attend the first day of activities but will be in attendance for
the rest of the weekend.
Thursday, the drivers will spend the day attending several seminars learning from experts in the business of racing
before heading on track at Lucas Oil Raceway Friday afternoon.
"The team has worked very hard with the drivers and cars to ensure we have a
strong weekend," said Borland. "Each race, we've seen improvement as a team and look forward to getting back on track with the rest of the
field."
